Ingredients
-
1½ lbs shaved beef steak
-
1 tbsp neutral oil
-
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
-
1½ cups shredded or hand-torn Cooper® Sharp American Cheese
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
4 hoagie rolls, split
Directions
Heat oil in a large skillet or griddle over medium‑high heat.
Add sliced onions and cook 5–7 minutes until soft and lightly caramelized. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add shaved steak, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until just done, breaking it up as it cooks.
Return onions to the skillet and toss with the steak.
Reduce heat to low and evenly sprinkle Cooper® Sharp White Cheese over the mixture.
Cover briefly until cheese is fully melted and coats the steak and onions.
Spoon mixture onto hoagie rolls and serve hot.
